Traditional Mexican pastries with a Californian twist, handmade with the very best ingredients. Offering fresh pan dulce, cakes, coffee, tea, tortillas (y algo más!) -- this elevated panaderia also caters to private events, custom orders, and designs wedding cakes. The cozy storefront accommodates limited in-door seating, with additional tables in the back garden, perfect for sharing a cake slice under the trees. First operating as a bakery in the 1850's, the historic location served as the source of bread for the local community for over 100 years until it was remodeled into a fine dining restaurant in the 1970's. Panaderia Matilija is owned and operated by chef Stephany Gocobachi in downtown Nevada City, CA.
